Generali GC&C Germany Celebrates 10 Years of Client‑Centric Growth and Technical Excellence

24 March 2026

Milan/Munich — Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) Germany celebrates its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of strong growth, technical excellence and solid partnerships with brokers and corporate clients across Germany and Europe.

This milestone is reflected in the strong business performance achieved in 2025. By year-end, GC&C Germany reached €224 million in Gross Written Premiums, maintaining a Combined Ratio below 93%. The team has grown to around 100 employees and manages more than 500 Multinational Insurance Programs, including over 170 placements as lead carrier.

These results are the culmination of a journey that began with the unit’s establishment in 2016. GC&C Germany, founded within Generali Deutschland AG, was created to serve the corporate segment with a specialized, technically driven underwriting model. The arrival of HansPeter Klebe as Head of GC&C Germany helped shape the management team, define key processes, and implement a shared service system with Generali Versicherung AG. The unit built dedicated capabilities in Casualty, Property, Financial Lines, and Engineering, supported by integrated Claims, Risk Engineering, and Operations.

In recent years, the company has accelerated its digital and technical transformation, introducing advanced pricing tools, automated underwriting support in Property and enhanced global contract management capabilities for Multinational Programs. In 2022, Germany became home to GC&C’s first independent Cyber underwriting unit globally, reinforcing its leadership in emerging risks. The expansion continued with the opening of a Cologne office in 2023, entry into the ART and Captive segment, as well as the launch of a Hamburg office in 2026.

As GC&C Germany enters its second decade, a leadership transition is underway. HansPeter Klebe, who has led the unit since its inception, will retire in the coming months. Matthias Arnold will assume the role of Country Head of GC&C Germany once Hans‑Peter Klebe’s retirement takes effect. Arnold has been with GC&C for the past ten years and currently holds the position of Head of Underwriting for GC&C Germany.

Hans-Peter Klebe, Head of GC&C Germany, said: “Reaching our 10year milestone is a proud moment for GC&C Germany. We started as a newly established unit and have grown into a trusted partner for brokers and clients across Germany and Europe. Our journey has been powered by technical excellence, disciplined underwriting and a relentless focus on service quality. I want to thank our talented team and our partners for their trust and collaboration over the years. Looking ahead, we will continue to invest in innovation, digitalisation and advanced risk solutions - from Multinational Programs to Cyber and ART/Captive - to support our clients with reliable, forwardlooking protection in a complex risk environment.”
